Agenda
Together with the Copenhagen Institute for Futures Studies (CIFS), the European Space Policy Institute (ESPI) is co-organising a workshop in Copenhagen on 31 August 2026, ahead of ESA’s Space for Inspiration conference on 1–2 September.
Through a practical foresight exercise, participants will explore possible futures for the low-Earth orbit and lunar economies.
The workshop will examine how emerging markets - including microgravity research and production, in-space manufacturing, agri-food applications and lunar resources - could develop over the coming decades. It will consider the assumptions behind current market expectations, as well as the business models, infrastructure needs, risks, opportunities, and societal implications that may shape their evolution.
